Promotion ... God's Way

For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge; he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

Psalm 75:6 to 7

Many people want to be promoted. Some look for the quick way to get to the top or to get noticed. The Bible talks about having good success and bad success. Bad success always has a snare and a catch. But the Bible says that God only gives the best, and when He blesses you He adds no sorrow with it (Proverbs 10:22).

So how does a child of God get promoted Gods way? First and foremost, continue to serve God in spirit and in truth — not for the riches, nor for the blessings, and not for the wonderful plans He has for your life, but serve God because He is God.

Live according to the Word of God. Many a time it is the little foxes in our lives that destroy the vine — gossip, slander, unbelief, doubt, misery, strife, hatred, unforgiveness. All these little foxes can destroy your life and keep you out of inheriting Gods promises for your life.

The next best thing to do is to be content where you are at the moment; and with contentment, a spirit of patience. Paul writes in Philippians 4, "I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound."

With contentment, though, make sure you have a vision of greatness; a vision of where you would like to be. The Bible says that "where there is no vision, the people perish."

And with your contentment, irrespective as to how bad your situation looks or how unfair you think you are being treated, do everything for your employer as it was service to the Lord (Ephesians 6:5 to 8).

Finally ... PRAY. Prayer changes your situations. Prayer is asking God to intervene and to bring His promises to fruition in your life.
