Rejoice Always
Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe
Philippians 3:1Paul always spoke about rejoicing always. He wrote about rejoicing often to remind the church that the sorrows of this world are but temporary, but we are "reaching forth unto those things which are before us," ... always pushing forward.
Paul goes on to say, "Do not look at the things of the world, for they are but temporal. They are a light affliction compared to the prize that awaits us when we return to the Father in Heaven."
You might be going through a storm at the moment; you might be waiting for answers to your problems; you are looking to the hills and waiting on God for deliverance. Be patient and rejoice during this time.
Rejoicing is an act of faith, a BIG act of faith. When you are able to rejoice during tribulation, you are affirming that God will deliver you. The world cannot understand why we can be glad in tribulation, why we can still smile and be happy when we are faced with severe trials. But as a child of a living God, know that God wants you to rejoice ALWAYS. He has already secured your victory. You are already an overcomer.
I may not know what your situation is. But I know who God is. I know what God can and will do for you in your situation, if you are willing to trust in Him for the victory. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that is impossible for God. The Bible says that He delights in the impossible.
Put your trust in God, cast your cares and your burdens upon the Lord, and rejoice. Put on your dancing shoes and sing a song of praise unto the Lord. Take off those shoes of sorrow and mourning and be clothed with garments of praise. Rejoice in the LORD always, and again I say, REJOICE.
